R’SHELL MEDLEY SINGER/SONGWRITER R’Shell Medley has been singing most of her life and by the age of only 15, R’Shell attracted the attention of Sony music and secured a record deal as part of a three girl pop group ‘Real Blonde’. The group toured the country and promoted two, top 40 singles and video clips which aired on rage, video hits and had high rotation on the Austereo network (Today FM, Fox FM, SAFM, B105, 106.5).
 
At 18, R’Shell discovered the world of live music and became the lead singer for the 30-piece NSW Army Reserve Band, performing all over Sydney. Followed by a t stint with the ever popular eight piece band, Wonderbrass. In this time R’Shell has mastered the art of leading a live band and has secured her position as one of Australia’s most versatile lead singers.
 
Since then she has developed her artistic skills as a songwriter and session vocalist for major studios such as 301, Kitty Groove Productions and Platinum Artist Development. R’Shell has also co written and recorded two songs with Choir Boy band members, Brent Williams and Lindsay Tebbutt for her original project. Winning an ABC song competition in 2004, R’Shell appeared on a Christmas CD compilation for the ABC . Also in 2004 R’Shell was also busy performing backing vocals for well known indigenous performer, Ursula Yovich (Australia – Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman), at ABC studios and in an SBS documentary aired on TV.
 
R’Shell has travelled the country and overseas to Malaysia, Singapore and Oman. Proving to be a performer of a world class standard. Jamie Oliver summoned R’Shell to perform Sexual Healing while he fed her some ‘sexual’ Chocolate Nemesis, live on stage in Melbourne, Australia.
 
Other career highlights include being the support act for Natalie Bassingthwaite and Ricki Lee Coulter. After 12 years of professional singing training and 7 years in the live scene, R’Shell has finally released and EP of her own material and will release her EP in Mid 2011.  This soul, infused pop, with a splash of disco is bringing down the house every time it’s performed with her 8 piece band. Since R’shell’s successful EP Launch at Goldfish in Sydney, last month R’shell has also had the opportunity to support pop sensation Bachelor Girl, which she did to rave reviews.

R’shell has had many and they continually influence her all the time, Including the many musicians, producers and writers she works with. The artists that R’Shell listens to, that have stayed with her are Jamiroquai, Etta James, Eva Cassidy, Gwen Guthrie, Chic,  James Brown, Brand New Heavies, The Eagles, Aretha Franklin, Jeff Buckley, and Toto.
